One of the first hurdles for any band or artist is to find a way to stand out, to get the public to notice them and take their music seriously. Presenting yourself and your music in a cohesive and memorable fashion will not only garner attention and lasting recognition, but it will simply make you seem larger than life. Some artists may have a clear picture of how they would like to see themselves represented, and it may come naturally for them to communicate their ideas visually. But most artists require some sort of visual art direction from a professional graphic artist or image consultant. All of this can be tied together in the form of CD packaging, web presence, print promotions, photography and logos.
Midwest Artist Network wants to help let the world know you are here by first sharing your music with friends and family, and then with the world outside your doors. By combining our resources, the Network can help you define the visual aspect of your art, promote your music, advertise your performances, and drive public and professional traffic to your completed products. Think of it as a one stop shop for fully realizing your musical identity.
Here's an example of what we're talking about. The following scenario would have never happened out there in the "real world" without everybody wanting their piece of the action. Enter award-winning composer (Steve Sperry) with a hit song. He allows a talented young artist (Josie Treffy - age 14) to record the song, and allows the MWAN to release 1000 copies of it without monetary return. Professional videographer, Brooke Sperry, creates a music video researching rare footage of Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement and re-works the video with Josie's vocal. Here's the result - rising tide raises all ships.
